These points are amassed in different ways: make a kill and you earn a specific amount of points. Playing through a level rewards you with points. It’s usually just not a very feasible way and a no-kills run is usually the most satisfying ways to play a stealth game. It adds weight to the killing, but doesn’t let that stop you if you want to go on a killing spree. Taking down an enemy makes the game zoom in on you and your target and show the kill in a more personal way. Every option is possible and that’s usually the mark (pun intended) of a good stealth game.
You could take down all of the enemies or just a few of them or none at all and work your way around them altogether. Even though the game is entirely in 2D this is done in a brilliant, but still obvious way. Enemies usually carry flashlights and guns, so picking the right opportunity to strike is key. And like a true stealth game you’ll stick to the shadows while taking out enemies one by one in the semi-large levels. Like any true ninja you are in possession of a sword, a grappling hook and shuriken. But the gameplay,… the gameplay is great. Although that doesn’t mean that it isn’t good.
